Who: WVDNR , Trout Unlimited chapters and numerous volunteers from across West Virginia

 

When: June 11, 2022

 

Where: Meet at 8;30 AM in the parking lot at the Cranberry Mountain Visitors Center (Nature Center. The Nature Center is located on Rt. 39 at the junction with the Highland Scenic Highway. We'll leave at 9:00 for the Work Site which is located on the Highland Scenic Highway. If you should arrive after 9:00 AM, drive out the Scenic Highway until you spot the work crew.

 

Note: Walmart will not be assisting this year. As of now we don't have a lunch and snacks lined up for the event so plan accordingly. If that should change we'll send out another notice. We have not done this event since 2019 because of the Covid restrictions. The stream needs the limestone fines infusion to maintain the brook trout population.

 

We need 75 -100 people for an efficient movement of about 10 tons of limestone fines along a 1/4 mile path in the Cranberry Wilderness Area where no mechanized machinery is allowed. Only PEOPLE POWER allowed! Hope you can make it.
